The centre provides a range of learning, recreational and community resources for people in the Burdiehouse and Southhouse areas of Edinburgh.
There is a general programme for people of all ages. There are children and youth groups, older people's groups, women's groups and family learning groups.There are also environmental groups, computer, writing and and dance groups.The centre is host to the local residents' organisation and a Save the Children Fund Development Worker.
The centre is open from 9.00am to 9.00pm and consists of a sports hall, lounge, creche room, general purpose room, kitchen and offices. There are computer and creche facilities and access for wheelchair users.There are rooms and facilities for hire. Centre users £1.50 per hour, non-users £3.00 per hour, voluntary organisations £5.00 per hour and commercial lets £12.50 per hour.
The Senior Community Learning & Development Worker has responsibility for the centre and works with the South Edinburgh Partnership. There is a part-time clerical assistant and janitor.
