CBAL course and activities
Community Based Adult Learning (CBAL) in South Edinburgh provides a range of free courses which reflect local interest
s and range from everyday English to computing, and social history to women's studies. We provide:

• adult summer schools
• free crèche, wherever and whenever possible
• awards ceremony to recognise local learners acheivements
• local events to celebrate International Women’s Day in March
• local crèche worker training courses run every year
• Family Learning organises Nursery to Primary 1 transition and school-based groups for parents and carers
• 'What’s On' leaflet which gives information on local adult learning opportunities
• informal courses that help adults improve their numbers and budgeting or reading and writing skills (run all year round)
• information about Adult Education classes

Family Learning workers are part of the CBAL team and work with groups of parents in the community. More

 

CLAN Edinburgh is project to help people improve their reading and numeracy skills. More
